Magnetic ballast is used to maintain the operating current of a certain lamp. It is a magnetic core with one coil.

– Lamp: lamp types it is designed for is indicated on the housing of the magnetic ballast
– Power factor λ: 0,45
– Starting current: indicated on the housing
– Section of the input cable: 0,5mm² ÷ 1,5mm²
– Section of the output cable: 0,5mm² ÷ 1,5mm²
Magnetic ballasts have big losses, and as a result are replaced by electronic control gear, which has significantly lower losses and more flexible to lamps, which improves their luminous parameters and prolongs their lifetime.
